Our Audiovisual Teaching Method

You can find a number of Igbo courses but hardly one elsewhere that can really teach you or your children to speak Igbo language. Many Igbo courses that you can find will only allow you to memorize a few words and phrases. Learning a few words and phrases does not give you the linguistic competence in Igbo language because you do not learn the structure of the language. Courses that enable you to memorize words and phrases undermine your own creativity, which plays a major role in helping you learn the language faster and effectively. You need to understand the structure and rules of the Igbo language and how to combine elements of the language in functional sentences.

The Igbo School uses an audiovisual method that focuses on teaching you all aspects of the Igbo language and culture. Our audio-video teaching method will bring out the creative learner in you and enable you to speak Igbo, rather than just memorizing a list of Igbo words and phrases. Using a simplified, easy to follow presentation with audio, video and written notes and exercises that are offered through the Igbo School Online, we will get you speaking Igbo language with the accent and pronunciation of a native speaker. All you need is a computer with internet connection, speakers and microphone and you will be surprised how fast we can get you speaking Igbo fluently. Try our sample lessons here.
